Sign Language....
Riana LOVES watching Mickey Mouse Club House and Baby Enstien on tv. She has been watching "My Frist Signs" for some time now and yesterday I walked in and she was sitting in front of the tv looking up at the video and doing some of the signs that the lady on the video was doing. It was really cute. Well for a few weeks now she has been doing this weird thing when she nurses and I thought she was playing BUT today after we got home I was doing laundry and she was watching her sign language video and I looked up and started watching it for a minute only to realize when she has been playing while she eats she is really doing the sign for milk! It made me proud to know she made the connection :)

Sick baby and some other stuff....
Riana started throwing up in her sleep last night :(
It was absolutely awful, her whole entire body was covered as well as the bed, blanket and bumper. She continued to throw up after she woke up until we were able to get her in the bath tub. While she was in the tub she seemed happy as usual. She played, splashed and smiled so I thought maybe it was just something she ate but unfortunantly after she got out and dressed here came the throw up again. This went on for a couple of hours and finally around midnight she went to sleep. She slept until 5:45 in the morning and acted hungry so I fed her and it stayed down for about 30 minutes so I thought she was fine and went to work leaving her with "Granna". Not 20 minutes after I left she text saying she was sick again. I went to work for half a day and then came home at lunch. Riana got sick a few more times but then started to act like she was hungry so I told mama to feed her some oatmeal and she kept it down. When I got home she was ecstatic to see me and seems to be on the upside of things. She nursed and ate some bananas and is playing but I hope this doesnt happen again anytime soon and the rest of us do not get it.
On a different note she is now saying more words...she of course says mama, dada and hey but now she has added cat "tat", out and eat. I havent heard her say eat yet but Ms. Alisa said she was saying it at her house and did sign language for more.
She is 9 months old today and I cant believe it! We got our first Christmas tree last weekend and so far she has not decided to try to destroy it! Riana LOVES to stand up and walk around while holding or pushing things. Her favorite thing is the little red rocking chair that was mine when I was little she will push it around and walk around the whole living room. She is standing on her own for short periods of time and walking around all of the furniture while holding on. I can not believe how much she is growing up and so quickly I think she will be walking before we know it, Christmas would be nice! She had a pretty nasty cold in November but I think we are getting rid of it, it was causing her to wake up once during the night but luckily she went right back to sleep when she ate but now she is back to sleeping like normal and I hope this stays noraml for her as she gets older! The one thing I wish she did was sleep later on Saturday mornings but it is not her fauly she has to get up early all week :)
On Friday's in December she gets to stay at home with "Granna" and they have fun! Today she learned how to cut the light off in the bathroom.

Thanksgiving!
Tomorrow will be Riana's first Thanksgiving! We are excited about spending time with family and eating good food! It is cool that she is old enough to taste some of the things we will be eating. I will post some pictures tomorrow of her in her Thanksgiving outfit and let you know how she liked some of the Thanksgiving food :)
A few side notes, Riana is getting really good at waving and doing it at the appropriate times. She has also started pointing at things and says mama and dada at the right people. She also talks and squeals constantly! It is so cute! I can tell when she is excited aobut something, her favorite show is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and when it comes on she loves to stand up and dance around it is very evident she likes it! We have a little red rocking chair in the living room for her and she loves to stand up and push it around, she is really good at walking while holding on to something and it makes her feel so big and in charge. She enjoys using her walker too but would really just rather be able to walk on her own! I cant wait for her to figure it out, she is able to stand on her own without holding on now for short periods of time, it is so fun to watch her learn new skills! At the mall this week with me, my mom and nana we put her in a little ride and she knew what to do, she put her hands on the steering wheel and turned it and everything, as soon as the ride ended she grabbed the steering wheel and stood up like she knew it was over and time to go!

Yogurt!
I just recently read about giving babies at 8 months old yogurt and cheese and it is good to do these things before they reach 9 months for a few reasons, so when we went grocery shopping this week we bought Riana some Danon yougurt and some mickey mouse cheese. She tried the cheese that night when we got home and seemed to like it she practically ate the whole piece!
Yesterday when we got home in the afternoon I was cooking something to bring to work today and preparing tonights food to go in the crock pot for today so I sat her in her high chair and while I cooked I fed her some yogurt, she got so excited when I got the container out of the refridgerator she knew it was for her even though she had never had it before. She really seemed to like it she squealed while eating it when waiting for another bite. We tried vanilla and she has another one with her today at Alisa's house and tomorrow we are going to try strawberry banana or peach! I took a few pictures of her while she was eating.
This was her last night while we were in our bedroom, she loves to stand and try to walk and when she gets in our bedroom floor she loves using our bed to help!
This is Riana this morning she is finally feeling better after her almost month long cold and snot fest and she has been so happy and back to her old self completely even though luckily she wasnt very unhappy while she was sick.

Good Morning!
We had to go to the doctor yesterday because Riana still has not been able to shake this cold that she has had. It had gotten better but then she cut another tooth so we thought the runny nose was related to that but even after her tooth came through the snot stayed and turned green again on Tuesday. When it stayed that way I called Dr. Ahmeds office yesterday and told them her symptoms and she said to bring her in so they could check her out. They started using a new system so with every single visit she will get weighed and measured. She weighed in at 18 lbs 4 oz and was 27 1/2 inches long. She grew 2 and a fourth inches since her 6 month appt and has gained 1 lb and 10oz they said she is doing well.
Luckily she did not have any ear infections or anything and the doctor said it was just a cold so she gave us a sample of a cold medicine for babies that she had left from before they quit selling cold meds for babies. She said it is really good and doesnt understand why they do not sell it anymore. It is supposed to help us see a difference in 48 hours so that is what I am hoping for!

On the move....
Riana has loved to stand up since she was very young now that she is on the go she is finding more ways to move around! I like to stand her in her crib to take pictures of her outfits and when I did this one day this week she decided she wanted to use the rails of her crib to help balance herself while she walked around the crib she moved from the back to the front, since she knows how to pull up I guess its time to start thinking about lowering the crib mattress!

Back to the doctor
We went back to the doctor today for a check up for Riana and she was also supposed to get her 2nd flu shot. Luckily the doctor said her ear is getting better but she didnt get the shot because they want her to be all better first so we have to go back AGAIN next week. I am so glad her ear is getting better though!
Next week Riana's babysitter is going to be on a cruise, we are jealous!!! Riana will get to stay with Granna for a few days and is going to go to Maria's house on Thursday to hang out with her and Sydney. They are having a fall festival at the daycare so Riana will get to wear her Halloween costume! I will def be posting pics!
Riana is progressing with her movements! She has started getting on all fours and rocking back and fourth its really cute and funny, shes going to start crawling for real soon I think. She is really good at the army crawling thing.
We have been really lucky this whole time she has been sick because even though she has been whiny she has been happy!

Sick baby.....
Well I had to take Riana to the doctor yesterday after school for a sick visit :( She is starting to get an earache in her right ear and has a bad cold. It is so sad, she is so stopped up that she can barely even nurse or eat. I feel so bad for her but there is nothing we can do. They gave her some antibiotics and told us to but drops in her nose and suck out all of the snot we can, gross I know but if it helps her. She really does not like having her nose cleaned but goodness I would not either! I hope that the medicine works fast and she is able to get better. We have to go back next Thursday to let them check her ear and get her 2nd round of the flu shot :(

7 months old!!!
Riana is now 7 months old I CANT believe it!!!! Time is flying by so fast, we will be planning her first birthday party before we know it! She still has such a great personality! It really is hard to leave her to go to work but I know it is what is best for us all, she needs to be around other people and get used to them and it helps us appreciate the time with her more. She got to spend some time with Josh at home last week and they had a good time, I am glad they get to spend Mondays together every week!
We still have not found any baby food she does not like, I am glad for this because it would be so hard if she didnt eat well. The chart the doctor gave us says that she can eat some table food now so at a family reunion this weekend I let her try a pea and some green beans. I think she liked the pea best. I am nervous about feeding her table food but also excited.
Riana is saying lots of syllables now, she will just sit around and talk forever it is so cute. Sometimes it sounds like she is trying to say da da or bye bye but we cant be sure. I can not wait for her first word! I do not want to wish her life away though! Riana LOVES music, she moves and dances around a lot! She is always on the go, she has places to be, people to see and things to do!!!! She is still working on growing some hair but its coming along and I think there is a good chance it will be red! She is such a sweet baby and everyone always comments about how happy she is and asks if she is always like this! We are so blessed and continue to be reminded of it every day!!!

Just an update....
Riana seems to be feeling better! I can't believe how much she is growing a changing every day! She has gotten really good at army crawling and she sits up really well! She still loves to stand and can pull herself up by grabbing our hands. We are just waiting for her to learn to stand up by herself and take off walking or really crawling!
She had her first kind of sleep over Sunday night while we went to Emily and Tyler's wedding. She stayed with Amber, Clifton and Macy! Amber took some really great pictures and they seemed to have a good time although Riana acted like a little bully again and attacked Macy! I like to think she is just really excited to see her and doesnt know how to show it any other way.
We have really enjoyed having Justin, Kim and their kids here for the last little bit. We spent some time with them yesterday and had dinner with the whole family. I let Riana try some mashed potatoes for the first time and a few little pieces of green beans. You could tell that it was something new in her mouth by her expressions but she ate them and seemed to enjoy it. I am excited to see her reactions when she actually get to start eating table food more often!

TEETH!

Well Riana did really well at her 6 month check up, she weighs 16 lbs 15 oz and was 25 and 1/4 inches long. The doctor said she seems to be doing really well! The bad part was she got 4 shots including the flu shot and took some oral medicine. She did really well doing this att the doctor but the next day I had to leave work early to go get her because she was not doing very well :( and now I am home from work with her today.
