It's been awhile....

There has been a lot going on around here so I havent had a lot of time to share.  Kim, Taylor and Joshua are here for Emily and Tyler's wedding, which is on Sunday.  They arrived last Wednesday and Riana, Josh and I went to get them at the airport.  We were excited to show off Riana and see them too! Justin will be coming this Friday!

Tomorrow Riana has her 6 month check up tomorrow, she is practically 6 and a half months old now.  I think she has surpassed the 17lb mark but I guess we will see tomorrow! I am sad that she will have to get more shots, it gets harder everytime because as she gets older I think it will affect her more.  She has done really great so far so I hope she continues in that way!  We keep waiting for her to cut some teeth but so far none have popped through that we can see.

She is eating stage 2 baby food and oatmeal now.  She loves it, we have not found anything she doesnt like besdies rice cereal.  Her first stage 2 food was mago smoothies and she really enjoyed them.  I even tasted them, they smelled so good! :)

I decided not to take Riana with us to Emily and Tyler's wedding even though I bought her a dress and everything before she was even here.  I just think she will be happier at home with Granna because she goes to bed early and I do not want to make her stay up just so we can have a good time, and lets just face it if shes sleepy we wont be able to really enjoy ourselves because although she is a GREAT baby when shes ready for bed shes ready! I will update tomorrow after the doctor appointment...until then!

Hey again...

Well we made it through the first week of daycare.  Riana seems to have adjusted and is doing well.  She does not sleep as much at daycare and with the her nanny as she does at home so some afternoons that makes for a very tired little girl! She was asleep at 6:30 tonight, could be a nap or could be all night guess we shall see!

I can NOT believe that Riana will be 6 months old on Friday how in the world did 6 months go by so quickly! I really miss being at home with her but am glad she is adjusted so well.  I know that in the coming months she will be doing lots of new things and I really hope I do not miss it all but I know even if I miss the first time she will do it again!

One of Riana's new favorite things to do is to drink water from a straw, if we have a bottle of water or something she knows what she needs to do with it but of course is not big enough yet! She is doing great at sitting up and really wants to sit up by herself but hasnt quite figured out how to get there.  When she lays on the floor to play she really tries to crawl but has not quite figured it out yet either. I cant wait for her to get there!

We are pretty excited about Kim, Taylor and Joshua flying in next Wednesday from Texas for Emily and  Tyler's wedding this month and then Justin will be here later on.  They havent seen Riana since she was a few weeks old other than on Skype so I know we will have lots of fun!!!

Having fun at Target with mom and dad, riding in the buggy like a big girl for the first time!

Day Care

Riana had her first day at day care today...I went into work late so that I could drop her off and meet the teacher.  She seemed very nice and there were 2 other little boys in the class today.  Funny thing is and not that you can tell from names but most of the names on the door looked like boy babies and most of the people I know who had babies around the time Riana was born were girls.  Anyway I dropped Riana off and stayed for a little while in the room with her and then headed to work.  She didnt get upset when I left but I do not think that shes at that point yet although since I have started back to work I can tell that she does miss me when we are not together.

After day care was over I text Alisa to see how Riana's day was and she said that she thinks Riana could feel the stress from the teacher because it is not the one who will usually be there and she hasnt worked there in a couple of years, Riana did not eat very much and cried some but hopefully tomorrow will be better and if not especially Monday when the regular teacher arrives.  It kind of hurt my heart to hear this but I know adjustments take some time.

I thought about crying but I am a big girl and I didnt ;) I love my baby girl but I know I need to work and she needs to meet other people and get used to being on her own...

Well....

Tomorrow is the big first day of school so no more having Riana with me for half days or whole days makes for one sad mommy :(

She has stayed with her Nanny Ms. Alisa for the past 2 days and seems to really enjoy it, which makes me happy because of course I want her to miss me but I want her to be happy where she is so that is a PLUS! Here are 2 pictures Alisa sent me which really help make my day better and put a smile on my face!

Well....

We have made it through the first three days back at work, luckily Riana and my mom have gone with me so I still get to be with her all day :) Everyone and school loves seeing Riana and she always welcomes them with a smile!

Hard to believe she will be half a year old next month, where does the time go! She is growing and changing everyday. For a few weeks she has been doing really well sitting up by herself, we still have to get her into the sitting position but once she is there she can hold herself up and play with her toys! She look so big doing it!

She is now a rolling machine although she tends to just roll to the left lol!

Another big thing for me is this week she has started reaching for me and let me tell you that makes me one happy mommy to know she wants me :)

Below are a few pictures, one of Riana sitting up on August 5th, her reading a book at school and then another of her watching her video after a long day at school sucking her toes :)
